Event: Joana Santos . Urchin, Square and Corner Collections
The two best things about being a design curator, is to find out collections that make us speechless, and to be able to provoke and encourage the work of ´your` creators.
But sometimes you get lucky, and the job came directly to your working table.
That was what happened with us when we meet Joana Santos.
We contact her because of her minimal, clean and delicate jewellery.
Pure forms, fractionally inspired by her training as an architect, with severe angles and contrasting finishes.
But in addition, she brought us a few “Square” exclusive pieces and “Urchin”.
1. “Urchin” is completely different from anything else.
It´s still pure, but is lighter and subtle.
From the delicacy of the perforated silver core to the expressive thin coloured lines…
It is hard to talk about it, but in the reality we don´t need to. We just need to show it.
2. New pieces from “Square” collection were designed exclusively for us.
You know your work is well done when, without asking, someone gets inspired by you and designs something that despite having its own language was created to fit your identity.
These new pieces are just the beginning.
Next Saturday, 12th November, the day of ´Inaugurações Simultâneas´ of our Porto Art (and Design, we’ll take a chance) District, we present “Urchin”, “Square” and “Corner.
