Carla Pontes

Carla Pontes was born in Barcelos and grew up between ballet classes and a taste for textiles of the family business.
She graduated in Product Design (2008) between Porto and Milan, before studying Fashion Design at CITEX / MODATEX (2011). Months after finishing her course, she was one of the winners of the Portugal Fashion design competition, which gave her the opportunity to present her first collection in 2012 on the BLOOM platform for young designers and at the Young Designers Fashion Shows in Madrid. Since then, other awards have followed that have reinforced the commitment to developing its namesake brand with regular presence on the national and international circuit.
In 2016 Carla co-founded carpo studio, a design and architecture studio, where she is responsible for fashion design developments such as uniforms, costumes, visual identity, with collaborations in the areas of music, dance, cinema, video and studio projects.
Currently, she is also a teacher at Modatex in Porto and a guest lecturer at IPCA (Guimarães and Famalicão).
