Diana Carriço, (Lisbon, 1988) – Economist, Designer, and incurable idealist.
After graduating with a Master’s Degree in the social sciences field, she found her true passion in specializations, believing that true fulfillment lies in interdisciplinary pursuits. From 2009-2014, she became a Product Designer at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, studied Fashion Merchandising at Modatex Porto, and specialized with a Master’s in Cool Hunting and Innovation Management (among other complementary courses). She worked as a coolhunter for design brands and international trend research agencies and is often invited to work as a coolhunter/researcher for international trend research agencies. She was a guest lecturer at the University of Alicante and co-created respective courses on Fashion Communication and CoolHunting.
After spending five years as the creative director at an industrial company, in 2015, she founded Made in Youthland, an androgynous Portuguese skincare brand, where she continues to work tirelessly. In 2022/2023, she decided to publicly showcase her more private side as a designer and creator with 337studio (an interdisciplinary design studio with intermittent collaborations from a creative collective) and the launch of b>Akathemi brand (jewelry, design, and contemporary art), focusing on using primarily and exclusively raw materials from industrial waste. In July 2023, she embraced a new challenge and accepted the invitation to work as the Production and Design Director for Liderplas – an industrial company that specializes in materials transformation. Currently, she is completing a specialization at the University of Toronto in “Gender Analysis – Gender Equity through Inclusive Design,” believing that Design plays a vital role in building a more equitable and inclusive society.
