“Alexandra Macedo lives in a house with very white and very smooth walls. Outside, the greens of the North, the granite stone and the solid lines and colours of the tiles.
Her objects, through the Mi Mitrika brand, take place in the intervals of all these images and are composed of patterns, colour rhythms and textures.
Alexandra’s pieces seem to arise from a perfect balance between all the elements that constitute her territory and her routines.
Her gestures are as simple as they are exquisite, and their beauty lies exactly there: between the quality of the raw material – be it wool, cotton or paper -, her ecological awareness and the enormous skill of manual workmanship.
The result comes in the form of necklaces, breast pins, scarves, caps, tapestry, blankets and homeware.”
