The brand Susana Bettencourt aims to explore the synergy between new digital technologies and traditional craftsmanship, being known for its strong and exclusive jacquard patterns, as well as handcrafted pieces of extravagant dimensions. The work is based on the use and respect for the material, a work of slow fashion and sustainability. Currently, all the production is located in Portugal.
Susana Bettencourt studied Fashion Design Knitwear at Central Saint Martins and Digital Fashion at the London College of Fashion. The brand began in February 2011, presenting its first collection at the London Fashion Week Exhibition. Currently, it presents collections twice a year at Portugal Fashion. The brand participates in international fairs such as Tranoi and White Milano.
Susana Bettencourt produces knitwear from yarn to piece, taking inspiration from current issues and creating graphic contrasts.
