Vinco
Description: Vinco is an exercise on shaping and fitting.
Three metal pieces are cut following a 2d pattern. The assembly takes place in three-dimensional space, in a gesture of precision and sensitivity. Without fasteners, screws or welding, gravity ensures assembly.
A delicate crease (“vinco”) allows the placement of a top – the concept finds function.
The structure is brass, steel, iron. The top is stone, ceramic, metal. The disassembled parts collapse to occupy the minimum thickness of the matter.
Vinco is the exploration of a concept in the encounter with functionality. A founding object for everyday poetry.
This piece is the result of the Open Call launched for SCAR-ID’s 10th anniversary.
