Ana Raquel Pratas

Ana Raquel Pratas was born in Coimbra in 1981. In 2006, she graduated in Architecture by DARQ-FCTUC , a profession that she held until 2013. Then, the approach to photography, which had been happening in a playful, amateur and passionate way through street photography, drifts irremediably into a new profession.
Together with Patrick Monteiro, she creates Menino Conhece Menina , a brand for documentary photography at weddings and other social events.
When photographing, she gathers the background of her training in architecture and her passion for street photography. This fusion results in an approach that is always documentary but decisively marked by composition and spatiality.
In 2022, again with Patrick Monteiro, she creates Menino Conhece Mundo, entering the world of documentary family photography.
In addition, in 2023, she collaborates with the Jesuit Refugee Service, producing photographic reports thematically diverse, but always with a markedly documentary ethos.
