Teresa Gil

Teresa Gil was born in 1967, in Porto, the city where she lives and works. Graduated in Fine Arts – Painting, by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. From an early age, in parallel with her study and practice in the field of visual arts, she developed different lines of jewellery, based on the exploration of different forms and materials.
The interest in three-dimensionality and its adaptation to the human body, in addition to the application and combination of materials, not always directly linked to this area, result in unique pieces, and in different series of necklaces. Nature and, in particular, the observation of botanical elements, form the basis of the pieces that, in a more direct way or subject to interpretation, have been presented at SCAR-ID.
